At LMU Klinikum\u2019s Center for Cognitive Disorders, the Minister learned how the <strong>NeuroLF dedicated brain PET system<\/strong> is being used to support advanced brain imaging and Alzheimer\u2019s disease research. PET imaging can visualize and quantify disease-related protein deposits such as amyloid in the brain, providing important information for diagnosis and treatment decisions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">LMU Klinikum is among the specialized centers in Germany offering the recently introduced anti-amyloid therapies for eligible patients with early symptomatic Alzheimer\u2019s disease. Confirmation of Alzheimer\u2019s pathology is an important part of determining treatment eligibility.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Dedicated brain PET designed around the patient<\/h3>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">During her visit, Minister B\u00e4r experienced NeuroLF firsthand and learned about the advantages of a PET system specifically designed for brain imaging.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">Unlike conventional whole-body PET\/CT scanners, NeuroLF features an open, seated design that can make the imaging experience more comfortable, particularly for patients who may have difficulties lying still or experience discomfort in enclosed scanners. Its compact footprint and dedicated brain imaging technology are designed to make high-quality PET imaging more accessible. Beyond Alzheimer\u2019s disease, NeuroLF can support imaging and research across a range of neurological and neurodegenerative conditions.<\/p>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The Minister highlighted the project as an example of how health research and technological innovation can translate into benefits for patients.
