German Federal Research Minister Dorothee Bär Visits NeuroLF at LMU Klinikum Munich
Munich, Germany – September 2026 – Positrigo was proud to see NeuroLF in the spotlight during a recent visit by Dorothee Bär, German Federal Minister for Research, Technology and Space, to LMU Klinikum Munich.
Marking World Alzheimer’s Day, the visit highlighted the growing importance of early and precise diagnosis as new treatment options are changing the landscape of Alzheimer’s disease care. At LMU Klinikum’s Center for Cognitive Disorders, the Minister learned how the NeuroLF dedicated brain PET system is being used to support advanced brain imaging and Alzheimer’s disease research. PET imaging can visualize and quantify disease-related protein deposits such as amyloid in the brain, providing important information for diagnosis and treatment decisions.
LMU Klinikum is among the specialized centers in Germany offering the recently introduced anti-amyloid therapies for eligible patients with early symptomatic Alzheimer’s disease. Confirmation of Alzheimer’s pathology is an important part of determining treatment eligibility.
Dedicated brain PET designed around the patient
During her visit, Minister Bär experienced NeuroLF firsthand and learned about the advantages of a PET system specifically designed for brain imaging.
Unlike conventional whole-body PET/CT scanners, NeuroLF features an open, seated design that can make the imaging experience more comfortable, particularly for patients who may have difficulties lying still or experience discomfort in enclosed scanners. Its compact footprint and dedicated brain imaging technology are designed to make high-quality PET imaging more accessible. Beyond Alzheimer’s disease, NeuroLF can support imaging and research across a range of neurological and neurodegenerative conditions.
The Minister highlighted the project as an example of how health research and technological innovation can translate into benefits for patients. She also emphasized Germany’s continued commitment to Alzheimer’s and neurodegenerative disease research through national and European research initiatives.
For Positrigo, the visit represents another important recognition of the role dedicated brain PET can play as healthcare systems prepare for a new era in Alzheimer’s disease diagnosis and treatment.
